Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman

Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, son of late Md. Jamat Ali Shah & late Sufa Khatun, was born on 01 January 1961 at Belabo, Narsingdi. He is a Veterinary Doctor and obtained his DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in 1983. He also completed an MS in Medicine from BAU in 1984. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service (1st Class Gazetted Officer) as a Veterinary Surgeon on 01-01-1987. He has successfully held various responsible positions in government service and served people with utmost honesty.

From his student life he used to think about how to devote himself to human welfare. With the encouragement of his father and the help of his elder brother, late Babul Akhter, he founded an organization called Super Power Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in 2003. After obtaining a pharmaceutical licence in 2008, the company has carried out its business activities under the name Super Power Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

Every day Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman used to start work for Super Power Pharmaceuticals Ltd. after finishing government duty. Unbelievable but true, he continued to work tirelessly for the company until the moment before the Fajr prayers. This is how he established Super Power Pharmaceuticals Ltd. “If we try, something can be done for the poor people” — he has proved it through his work.

Today Super Power Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (SPPL) is one of the leading veterinary drug manufacturing companies in Bangladesh. SPPL is consistently building upon its portfolio and currently produces more than 100 products encompassing every sector of veterinary medicine. In the near future the company will create strong differentiation by offering a range of high-tech, specialized products. SPPL strives to provide high quality pharmaceuticals that improve the health of the animal sector in our country. More than 200 officers and employees are working in this company.

All of this was possible due to his innovative ideas, tireless efforts, perseverance and dedication with self-confidence. Super Power Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is very grateful to Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman for being the flag bearer. Even after retirement from government service he works tirelessly for the welfare of the poor and for the development of his own country. Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman is the brightest example of a person who proved that it is possible to work for people’s welfare even in government service, if one has strong will power.
